RENDEZ-VOUS OTTAWA
5 Days & 4 Nights
Day 1 – Transportation required: Bus
Afternoon
- Tour of Ottawa (on your Bus) to discover the Prime Minister’s House, Rideau Falls, the Byward Market, Parliament and more
- Arrive at your accommodations and settle in the rooms
Evening
- Dinner at Hard Rock Café, the restaurant that pays tribute to Rock ’n Roll musicians
- Tour Laurier House, home of two Prime Ministers, William Lyon Mackenzie King and Sir Wilfred Laurier
Day 2 Transportation required: walking
Morning
- Breakfast at Cora’s
- Participate in a workshop at the National Gallery of Canada, with topics such as history, math, sculpting and photography
Afternoon
- Lunch at own expense /Picnic Lunch in Major Hill’s Park
- Guided tour of the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings, visit the House of Commons, the Senate and the famous Library of Parliament - the only original component remaining from the first parliament building built in 1867
- Tour Parliament Hill to see the Victoria Tower Bell, cat sanctuary and Centennial Flame. Group photo taken.
- Starting in front of the Parliament Buildings, work together to complete the National Capital Commission’s Capital Circuit – Urban Scavenger Hunt
Evening
- Dinner at Dunn’s Deli
- Haunted Walk Tour
Day 3 Transportation required: walking
Morning
- Breakfast at accommodations
- Walk along the Rideau Canal to the Bytown Museum and Ottawa Lockstation for a guided tour
Afternoon
- Lunch at own expense and free time in the Byward Market
- Workshop and self guided tour at the Canadian Museum of Civilization with topics such as archeology, native culture, and explorers
Evening
- Dinner at Rotisserie St. Hubert
- IMAX film presentation
Day 4 Transportation required: Bus
Morning
- Breakfast at accommodations
- Tour the Royal Canadian Mint and learn about how our coins and other items, including the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Medals, are made.
Afternoon
- Picnic lunch on the grounds of Rideau Hall
- Guided tour of Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Governor General since 1867
- Tour the RCMP Musical Ride Stables
- Take part in a workshop at the Canada Aviation Museum with themes such as history and technology
Evening
- Dinner at East Side Mario’s
- Play three games of fast-paced Laser Quest
Day 5 Transportation required: Bus
Morning
- Breakfast at accommodations
- Guided tour and workshop at the Canadian War Museum where you will learn about Canada’s military history and our country’s place in the major conflicts of the past century
Afternoon
- Lunch at own expense at the museum cafeteria
- Take Bus to the airport to return home
